We in the francophone world we were drowned in japanese anime by the Club Dorothée.

Ghost in the Shell (both Stand Alone Complex and 2nd Gig)

Code Lyoko (not sure if it's anime but ya...)

Anything with an indepth plotline... I like my shows more "mature" I guess ^_^

Depending on where you place Hayao Miyazaki, all movies but in particular Mononoke
