Party Primaries
Hello Everyone,
So another feature that we have been using in the Peace 'n' Prosperity Party (PnPP) to help engage our members and make the forums more vibrant has been a series of forum primaries for positions of;
-Party President
-CP Candidate
The goal of this has been to allow a more open debate, to let our active members have a say on who is elected and ensure only one candidate runs who is endorsed and thereby help the party avoid a PTO.
Any idea if RB would do this?
Cheers,
oboacer

Re: Party Primaries
We tend to do this in a more informal way, just with discussions and reaching consensus in here when it is needed.

Re: Party Primaries
Do you guys ever hold a formal vote? We tend to do that when there are multiple candidates for party positions.

Most of the time that is not needed here. People who want to run say so, and generally we have no difficulty in reaching an agreement about it.

Humm...interesting. I wonder if we could develop that type of community in the PnPP.

Re: Party Primaries
It seems eNZ has a more active political community then eBelgium. Here we already have a hard time forming parties around ideas. When you're fewer to discuss things, it might be easier to organize.

I second Nohijs. Around here there are not enough people active to really worry about that stuff.

I see, guess it is something that we in eNZ need to simply get used too. Although I'm happy to see that your party has an active core of players who can help keep it afloat

Thanks! I personally think that once we get more active people then we will be able to apply some of the things that you are talking about.

Re: Party Primaries
Regardless, if you want to start getting the membership on the forums you need to start building a larger in-game presence beyond the typical election time stuff.
I would encourage at least one article a week and also possible some more stuff too

That is smart! What would you put in the weekly articles?

Re: Party Primaries
If I can make a recommendation Mudduck, take a look at "Ginny Tory" in-game newspaper. It is called the PnPP Express.
She basically allowed our party to take over her paper and look at the articles there to get an idea of what we talk about.
Usually it entails
1) An update on the most recent election and info on our candidates for the next one
2) A link to the party forums
3) Some party commentary on current affairs, government matters etc
4) An interview with various members to give the party an inside view of its active members.
Just some thoughts!
