Actually, setting up a company is much easier now than it was in V1. I'm not much into the business end, but I have several companies myself. There are others here who are better able to advise you about what to do and when to do it, but some of your initial quests will give you a push to get started.

In the current economic circumstances setting up and managing companies is extremely easy.

First of all the most profitable company in the short run is a Q4 raw materials factory (food). Since we're all super nice eBelgians and all; you can get a subsidy for it on the national forum. In all companies you'll work as manager (WaM) ensuring a minimal output.

In the long run the most profitable companies are Q6 production plants of weapons (and food but there's a non-negligible problem when selling food production on the market).

So you'll need 2 investments to start out with:
Q4 raw materials companies to ensure minimal profits
Q3 or higher Food company for your personal use in food production

Afterwards:
Stimulate your Gold income and upgrade the first training center to a Q2 (you can also get a gold loan for this). 10 Strength a day will get you a medal every 25 days instead of every 50 with 5. Together with a hard worker medal (and a congress medal) it'll mean an income of 10 (or 15) Gold a month. Upgrading the second training center and asking the subsidy to pay the 0.19 Gold training will earn you an extra medal every 2 months, certainly to be considered.

Start with a weapons company once you have a margin after eating all you can. Build it and upgrade it as far as possible (Q6 upgrades have only been available once so far and best is to wait for upgrade offers to do upgrades so you don't pay the full gold price)

I currently operate a Q4, Q5 and Q6 weapons company and a Q4 and Q5 Food company. I have a hard time getting sufficient employees to fill all slots at the profitable wage of 150-155 BEF.

You can get employees in the current market once you reach a Q4 production company (the margins on a raw materials company are not high enough to pay sufficient wages).

Market price of 0.31 BEF to buy raw materials (you have to move abroad for that price) and sales price of 0.66 BEF per used raw in botprices. 0.35 BEF per raw margin:
- Q4 food: 0.35*140*4= 196 BEF - wage 155 BEF = 41 BEF per employee
- Q4 weapons: 0.35*120*4= 168 BEF - wage 155 BEF = 13 BEF per employee
- Q5 food: 0.35*140*5= 245 BEF - wage 155 BEF = 90 BEF per employee
- Q5 weapons: 0.35*120*5= 210 BEF - wage 155 BEF = 55 BEF per employee
- Q6 food: 0.35*140*6=294 BEF - wage 155 BEF = 139 BEF per employee
- Q6 weapons: 0.35*120*6=252 BEF - wage 155 BEF = 97 BEF per employee

Food vs weapons:
The bot buys about:
- 1.500 products a day of Q4 food
- 1.500 products a day of Q4 weapons
- 1.100 products a day of Q5 food
- 1.100 products a day of Q5 weapons
- 800 products a day of Q6 food
- 800 products a day of Q6 weapons

Those figures are approximative and per market. So you could technically go over the limit by selling in foreign markets.

The profit of you working in a Q4 food raw materials company as manager is:
77.55 BEF per company (raws selling to bot at 0.33 BEF - 3.30 BEF food cost provided you produce it yourself or get it from a government program). NLSP might be able to help you to tell how much raw materials the bot buys at 0.33 at this point, currently no experience with it.

But questions are easier in specifics:
- What is your primary goal (be self-sufficient in food/weapons for how many clicks and or produce enough to train in all TC or technical maximum of 10 Gold per day)
- How much energy are you willing to spend in economy (I spend 49 hits in working and training every day and I find it's starting to limit me in the battle field :p)

just to note bot prices have changed as of yesterday. it seems they're now at 0.60*quality*raws used for finished products. The price of raw materials has gone down a bit too but so have the profit margins. Sad
