Goodbye, at least for now

Dear Res Belgica,
It is with very mixed feelings that I tell you that I am leaving Res Belgica for an indefinite period of time, perhaps for good. This is not because of any ill feelings toward RB, which has been my home in my heart even if sometimes not in fact since I came to eBelgium more than two years ago. Many of my best friends are and have been here. However, I have decided it is time for a new adventure. I have been invited to join A Vegan in establishing the HOPE party (some of you will remember that AV and I were first elected to Congress together from RB). Since RB is thriving, I do not feel I am really needed here - although I know I am welcomed - and I want to give this new enterprise a chance to succeed. If it fails, as I know it might, RB will be my top choice to come back to, but I intend to give HOPE every chance before abandoning it. I leave you for now with the greatest respect and love, and hope we can continue to work together for the good of eBelgium. If you wish me to pass on my administrative duties here, as would be very understandable, I am available to help you do that. You need only send me a PM.

I think A Vegan wants to try a more moderate approach in the game, at least that's what he told me about HOPE, and I think he deserves a chance to try and make the most of it. I'm sure Maryam will be a soothing element in the new born party, so I kinda look forward to see more interesting things coming from that corner. Good luck, Maryam!

I must say I'm a bit surprised by your choice, certainly cauz AV was a bit a pita (pain in the ass) the last months and has recently on the forum showed that he hasn't changed that much.

Nevertheless I wish you good luck and kiss you goodbye.

Thanks, friends. You know you will always have top place in my heart. Yes, I know what AV can be sometimes, and that, if this fails, it may be because he has let his worse side carry him away. Nevertheless, the vision he expresses is one that could be great for eBelgium, an alternative moderate voice, trying to find what we have always been from the beginning, a small nation of friends who don't always agree but do always want the same thing in the end, a strong and stable eBelgium.

Understand that I'm not dissatisfied with RB. I just think you can carry on without me for now and maybe I have a chance to do some good in another corner. If we manage to succeed, HOPE and RB could be great allies.
